Tara catches up with event rider Lydia Heywood

Tara, MOCHARA'S founder, caught up with event rider Lydia Heywood who is the face of the S/S 2021 campaign to discuss horses, fashion, and lockdown!
T: How have your lovely horses been during lockdown? Any advice?
L: I feel it’s important to make sure they aren’t getting bored of the repetition in life (like some of us might be!) Hacking is a great way to keep them strong and focused, the hills I have locally are a massive bonus.
T: What are you missing out on competitively due to the new restrictions?
L: I really miss leaving the start box and riding at speed! As the ground dries up, I’ll be able to bring in fast training at home which will be a welcome development.

T: Any goals/aspirations?
L: The 6YO Championships were a goal when I purchased my young horses but with the covid cancellations I stepped back and put them at grass during lockdown, I have got to know them so well as individuals in and out of the saddle with all the extra time which I love.
T: What advice would you give to aspiring riders?
Keep believing and know that by working hard with a good vision you can reach any goals. If envisioning the journey is difficult, seek out a mentor that is generous with their time and keen to see you succeed.
T: How are you finding your new MOCHARA wardrobe?
L: MOCHARA loungewear is beyond comfortable, I regularly wear it in the mornings and at my home office and after the horses. I applaud the MOCHARA colour ways, plum and all the different greys get lots of compliments!

T: Any favourite items?
L: I have a personalised base layer in black and decided to put my Instagram handle there after being inspired by other MOCHARA fans. The gold letters draw everyone's eyes to my outfit and its stunning quality matches up to the black breeches beautifully.
T: Thank you so much Lydia, we look forward to catching up with you again soon.
L: Stay safe everyone!
Some great advice there, we can't wait to see Lydia back out competing soon.
