Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the incredible women who support, inspire, and shape us. In the equestrian world, the bond between mothers and daughters is often at the heart of success, with many sharing a deep-rooted passion for horses. At MOCHARA, a female-founded equestrian and activewear brand, we understand the importance of this connection. Our minimally branded, stylish, and functional clothing is designed to suit all ages—making it perfect for mums and daughters alike.
International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the achievements of women across all fields, and in the world of equestrian sports, women continue to make their mark. Equestrianism is one of the few sports where men and women compete on equal terms, a testament to the unique bond between rider and horse that transcends gender.
It's been a while since we introduced you to some of our models, so stay tuned over the next few weeks to be able to get to know them a bit better. We asked our models to tell us a little bit about themselves, their horses, as well as what they love about a Mochara shoot day…
Last weekend Tara returned to Hartpury University to support two of Mochara's riders: Lizzie Baugh and Alyssa Yallop who were competing in the horse trials. Here's how it went...
A slightly overdue update, but the Mochara Team are delighted to announce our latest sponsored rider, Lizzie Baugh. We have been supporting Lizzie since the end of the 2023 season, so we thought it was about time to tell you a little more about her and her string of horses.
Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and if your special someone is a horse rider, you may be wondering what to get them. Finding the perfect gift can be a challenge, but fear not! We have compiled a list of unique and thoughtful gift ideas that are sure to make their heart gallop with joy and of course remember this is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself!
Sustainability Takes Centre Stage The equestrian apparel industry is witnessing a significant shift towards sustainability. Riders are increasingly seeking gear that not only performs but also preserves. Mochara is at the forefront of this movement.
Whilst traditionally St. Valentine's Day is a day to buy a gift for the special person in your life and of course this is a brilliant way to show someone you care, there is no reason not to use it as an excuse to treat yourself, a friend, family or loved one to a special gift. Those equestrians in your life will be forever grateful!
Here at Team Mochara we are consciously working to provide sustainability within our supply chain and have worked extensively to understand how we can integrate sustainable materials and practices into our products.
If you ask anyone why they love horses it most definitely cannot be pinned down to just 1 reason (or even 5!). There seems to be a special connection between humans and horses that has just always been there and is sometimes difficult to put into words.
Whether it’s your first time in the saddle or you’re a seasoned rider, there are some essentials you need to ensure you are protected at all times. Keeping the wellbeing of both yourself and your horse at the forefront.
Eventer Lydia Heywood’s top rides are the rising six-year-old mare Tullaher Lottie, who won the most recent four-year-old class at Tweseldown, and My O My Trend, or Flynn, a promising, rising six-year-old gelding. Lydia has represented Jamaica at international 2* level, and mentors minority riders worldwide, with a focus on increasing diversity and inclusion.
Dulwich Riding School in London has been forced to close because of Covid restrictions and like many other riding schools across the UK, is facing mounting pressure to pay the bills.
It’s pretty cold outside at the moment and like it or not owning a horse means dealing with freezing mornings, even colder evenings and everything in between. We layer up our horses in waterproof turn out rugs and cosy stable rugs but what about their humans?
I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t into horses! My family weren’t horsey, my Mum had ridden a little and even loaned a pony for a while but even she would describe herself only as a ‘competent novice’. However, I just always knew that I had a future with horses even though I didn’t know exactly how this would turn out I just knew
I can’t quite believe the time has finally come to write this blog… my plan was to have it written before the first event of the season in March but of course our Event season has been significantly delayed due to the Corona Virus. Four months later than originally planned but many of us are heading to our first event of the season THIS WEEKEND!
I should have started these blogs a few weeks ago but I think the first few weeks were a bit of an adjustment period during which I had to find ways to fill the time that I would normally have spent riding, training and preparing for competitions and actually competing. Unfortunately I think I filled a lot of this time with the wrong things, ie snacking and feeling a little bit sad about all the horsey time I was missing! (my yard has temporarily closed and I have not seen Buddy for about 6 weeks).
It’s finally time to meet the Mochara models (horses too!) - We asked our models to tell us a little bit about themselves, their horses, as well as what they love about a Mochara shoot day… I think it’s particularly important to mention that all of our models are friends of Tara’s and have previously never modelled before, the pictures still look amazing, regardless!!

I hope you love the new Mochara brand and website… it’s been an incredible journey from concept to reality and I have had to turn my hand to so many different tasks. I must admit that at times I worried that I had bitten off more than I could chew, but to everyone reading this, I must just say it’s all been worth it. I have always remembered the quote “don’t call them dreams, call them plans” whenever I wanted to give up!
